Important Information

Transition blackout period begins November 22nd and ends December 27th.

To make this transition as smooth as possible, there will be a few things that will require your attention. So please be on the lookout in the next few weeks for more communications providing relevant information about this transition. We have also provided answers to some frequently asked questions below.

Frequently asked questions (FAQ)

When does the transition from TIAA and CBIZ to OneBridge take place?

The transition will be complete on December 27, 2024.

Will the recurring premium reimbursements I have established with CBIZ continue after the transition to OneBridge?

No. You will have to discontinue your recurring premium reimbursements and then register for a new “Automatic Premium Reimbursement” with OneBridge. Instructions on how to do this will be shared in December.

Will I be able to continue using my benefits card through the transition?

No. Your current benefits card will be shut off on October 31, 2024. If you have any transactions from that card that require additional substantiation, please send the supporting documentation to CBIZ on or before November 15. Any unsupported transactions that remain as of the beginning of the projected blackout period (November 22, 2024) will be reported as taxable income on IRS Form 1099.

Will my elections for Group Medicare coverage through Aetna or Health Partners carry over through the transition to OneBridge?

Yes. The insurance coverage elections you make during open enrollment for the 2025 plan year will be carried over to OneBridge, who will facilitate the payment of your premiums beginning in January.

Will the toll-free Emeriti Customer Service number remain the same?

Yes, following the transition to OneBridge, you may use the same Emeriti toll-free number, 1-866-363-7484. Following the transition, OneBridge will handle all customer service calls that were previously handled by two different vendors (TIAA and CBIZ).

When will my current participant portal access switch to my new online portal account with OneBridge?

Following the blackout period (November 22 – December 27), everyone will have access to their new account on December 27, 2024.

Will the investment fund lineup be the same, or will my current investment elections be changing with the transition from TIAA to OneBridge?

Your plan sponsor has had the opportunity to consider changes to your plan’s investment fund lineup in connection with the transition. If your plan sponsor does make changes, there will be additional information coming soon regarding your new investment lineup and how your current investments will be mapped to the investment available under the new lineup.

If I am a surviving relative of an Emeriti participant, what will I need to do to have the account transferred?

You should plan to contact our Customer Care Center after January 1, 2025. We will provide a bereavement packet to you or to the estate’s authorized representative, which will include documentation needed to process final claims incurred by the deceased participant and any tax-qualified dependents prior to the participant’s death and to transfer the remaining balance to any surviving tax-qualified dependents.
